If your first reaction on yearly resolutions is "yikes" then we are on the same page! ;)
When I hear the word "resolution" (both in English and Greek) the first feeling I get is "yikes"! I guess my way too many attempts in the past have created this...!
Trying to find what I did the year before that was amazing, unique, different, if I achieved any of my "BIG" goals and then setting new goals for the new year!
Scary stuff (LoL) that brings the motivational energy down...
“What are grateful for 2021? What changes did you observe in yourself? Who are you grateful for?”
This time, I was asked by a close friend "are you doing a resolution?"
You already know my first reaction...!
The second reaction wasn't mine but I got told off by my guides!
So, I went with it...!
The twist was that this time I wrote about all the things I am grateful for 2021.
I made a list of gratitude for all the things that happened and created a positive change in my life.
My next step was to create a list of the "negative" situations of 2021 because they inevitably brought a positive change!
To be honest.. I had them all blended into one list!
It filled my heart with joy and gratitude for sure! Looking back with gratitude, helped me see how far I've come and what I want from myself, my life, universe... from now on!
"Welcome 2022 with new intentions! Scale up your previous achievements! Dare to dream and desire!"
Are you eager to welcome 2022 with a subtle feeling of excitement and anticipation?
This is how you can do it...
Set intentions about simple and small things and remember to raise the bar a bit higher from what you achieved last year!
If you go with high expectations it's easier to crash your motivational power!
To recap some steps and add some more:
#1 gratitude for 2021 both positive and negative stuff
Even if you think now "she's crazy" saying that.. you will be amazed when you do it!
Trust me! ;)
#2 Intentions for 2022 keeping the raise of the bar a bit higher than last year but not too high
You will be amazed of how accomplished you will feel when you see your list with checks by its side!
Again... Trust me! ;)
#3 Make a list of what makes your heart sing
Even you believe you are not able now to think of something, just write...! Make sure you add on this list as you discover yourself more and more!
This will keep you accountable to yourself about the things you need to do, because you love these things!!!
Extra tip: Send this list to a friend of yours! Ask them to keep you accountable that you keep doing these things!
#4 A list of the things you would regret if you didn't do in 2 years time
There is nothing better than this!
It's easy for us to procrastinate on things we would love to do but they are out of our comfort zone! Very easy...
BUT! If we add the variable of feeling regretful then suddenly everything makes sense! We leave procrastination on the door and we start the actions!
So my question is, what would you regret of not doing if you were now in 2024 looking back to 2022?
Now take these gems and put them into a good use!
Lift yourself up, create the gratitude, motivational power and take actions in the direction your lists show you!!!
Hope this brought clarity and a bit of help for your next steps!
Inwards & Onwards,
Elena the Greek
